RIN

Rin is Denmark’s national provincial queer, writing relatable lyrics that leave an impression and are inclusive more than provocative.

With one foot in the Northern Jutland working class and one foot in the radical queer community, Rin stands with a desire to articulate what brings us together rather than what divides us. Through her honest and authentic musical expression, Rin inspires listeners to embrace their true selves and pursue their dreams without compromise. The lyrics are the core of Rin’s music, addressing everyday life stuff such as sorcery in the attic and breakdowns in a Supermarket alongside existential thoughts about death, family and loneliness.

She moved to Skagen for the last six months of 2023 and this experience of being in close contact with her roots from Vendsyssel, made it clear to her that this is also where she writes songs from and to. For Rin, the poetry lies in her Northern Jutlandish dialect and the melodies have roots in her childhood cassette tape collection with Shubidua and VHS recordings of the MTV pop icons of the 90s and 00s.

The debut single “Riv Det Hele Ned” was released on 22 March 2024, taking position as the starting point for a brand new and super relevant Danish pop artist, who will undoubtedly awaken both excitement and resonance with her audience.

Rin insists on being a national, unifying voice across class and morality: “I want to be airplayed on the national radio stations and I want to be on the local radios. I want to be on the big stages and I want to go out and play at the residential houses in the small communities. I want to make it hip to be provincial in the art elite – and I want to make art understandable for provincial Danes.”
